Adults need to be responsible for stopping sex abuse. Kids are powerless to stop sex abuse, yet we depend on them to do just that by teaching good touch, bad touch and hoping kids will be able to either say no or tell. Our non involvement in the issue allows sex abuse to continue. Be the Scream is our action plan to remove the responsibility of stopping sex abuse from the shoulders of our children. Our kids are screaming as loud as they can. We need to Be the Scream!

Small Action steps you can take:

  • Learn the facts and the reality of the impact of sex abuse. Take advantage of opportunities, and talk about it! (Request our fact sheet!)
  • Order and wear a Be the Scream pin, and handout the enclosed cards.
  • Become aware of stereotypes, gender language and media messages that build a culture that accepts interpersonal sexual violence.
  • Schedule a Connections speaker
