About Us

As a pastoral care director Rebecca Born, saw and heard the devastation of sexual abuse and the amount of time needed for recovery. The need did not match the resources available. With the intention to give survivors a place to do the work of recovery, Connections opened it's doors in 1998 with 2 clients. The needs expressed by the survivors compelled the agency to include advocacy work and to expand into education efforts. In 2001 connections joined Community Shares to collaborate with other non-profits interested in social justice issues. We now serve an average of 35 women, and 76 teens a month.

The building of relationships between clients and staff; between the client and herself, and between clients themselves, is the core vehicle of restoration utilized at Connections. Our program elements are designed to give survivors experiences within which to learn new skills and be safe in relationship.
